Semaglutide Weight Loss Program

Weight Loss with Semaglutide

Managing weight is at the forefront of millions of minds worldwide, and regardless of diet and exercise, there are many contributing factors that inhibit you from reaching your own personal goals. Whether losing weight to achieve health goals or just to reduce the factors that added weight or obesity contribute to chronic health conditions or even disease, we can say that we now offer Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 RAs to aid in your weight loss journey.

What is Semaglutide?

While originally conceptualized to treat type 2 diabetes and the detrimental health factors that obesity and extra weight contribute, Semaglutide has been approved by the FDA for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related condition (such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol). The practioners at the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery are available to help determine whether a Semaglutide prescription is right for you. This is a great option if you are struggling with obesity, currently do not meet the BMI requirements for other weight loss solutions, are interested in reducing fat and losing wieght, or just want an extra boost towards your physical aesthetic goals. There are no minimum or maximum BMI limitations. In a clinical study involving 175 overweight or obese patients, the total body weight loss percentages achieved were 5.9% at 3 months and 10.9% at 6 months with a weekly injection of Semaglutide. Weight loss can be increased through changes in diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits.

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist, meaning that it mimics the action of a group of metabolic hormones through a synthetic hormone peptide, or glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).  The glucagon-like peptide binds the receptor in an identical way to your body’s natural hormones acting in a duality that suppresses appetite, making the body feel fuller, longer, while also lowering the body’s natural glucose levels. Both of these dual-operating factors uniquely suppress appetite for weight loss and also stimulate the body’s natural metabolic response.

How Does Semaglutide Help Weight Loss?

The resulting factor is eating less and an increased metabolic output to burn more fat. Side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation. Semaglutide is administered as a once-weekly injection. Each treatment is specifically dosed by our practioners to meet the specific needs, history, and health status of our patients. The Semaglutide Weight Loss Program Process

Consult

A free, virtual initial consultation can save you time and a trip into our offices. During this visit be prepared to discuss your medical history, a list of all current medications, any allergies, or any previous surgeries for weight-loss or cosmetic purposes. After your consultation with our nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant and upon approval, we will order your six week dose of Semaglutide, which can be shipped to your home or picked up in our office along with the supplies needed to administer the medication.

At Home Injections

After receiving your Semaglutide medication, which includes the required syringes as well as antiseptic supplies, you will administer your prescribed dosage into your arm, upper thigh, or abdomen. Detailed instructions will be given as well. As always, we are available for any questions or concerns you may have throughout the treatment process. You will schedule a follow-up consultation at one month to measure progress and to determine future steps.

Semaglutide is available for persons over the age of 21 and is recommended for those whose BMI’s are over 27. However, if you think that Semaglutide is right for you, please contact us to speak about your personal goals and health.

The results are generally realized quickly, as the process of appetite suppression and metabolic response is immediate. Like any other weight-loss stimulant, results are not permanent and need to be maintained in conversation with your health professional.

The dual effect of the synthetic GLP-1 hormone suppressing appetite, lowering blood sugar, as well as kickstarting the body’s metabolic process make Semaglutide more effective than over-the-counter weight-loss appetite inhibitors.

Your prescribed dose is self-administered once a week with the supplies that you will be provded for the amount of months determined by your practitioner.

Semaglutide like any treatment or procedure we offer at the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery is FDA-approved and deemed safe. While not common, as with any supplement or injectable there is the possibility of side effects, all of which can be discussed with your physician.

Our affordable treatment plans start at $499 for a six week supply. We also offer flexible financing options that allow you to pay over time.

Semaglutide is taken with a once weekly injection that you can administer yourself with the instruction and guidance of our practitioners or if you are more comfortable you can come into our center for your weekly injections at no extra cost.

The most common side effects experienced while taking Semaglutide are Nausea, Diarrhea, Stomach (abdominal) pain, Vomiting, and Constipation. If you experience any of these side effects please contact us.
