The Process

Before Treatment

First, your MedSpa technician will take your complete medical history to determine if you are a good candidate for treatment. Then, they’ll perform a comprehensive facial examination and show you how you could benefit from AcuPulse Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing. They will also explain the procedure in detail and give you an idea of the results you can expect to achieve.

Treatment

Your technician will start by applying a topical numbing cream to your face, neck, and/or décolletage. Next, they’ll use the laser to deliver energy pulses meant to reach the required depth of penetration for desired results, while minimizing thermal damage to the surrounding tissue. During the treatment, you may experience a minor heat sensation, but it is very gentle and you should not feel uncomfortable.

Post Treatment

Your technician will give you specific instructions to protect your face after treatment. Generally, you should avoid direct sun exposure, apply a cool compress to relieve any burning, and avoid picking any scabs. You’ll notice full results after about a week, including smoother skin and a fresher complexion.

A laser is used to deliver quick energy pulses and penetrate deep into the skin. A shallow depth of penetration is required for desired results when treating a more superficial condition, such as sun damage, compared to a deeper depth of penetration into the skin to resurface wrinkles and scars.

Wear a loose-fitting button-up shirt on the day of treatment, and avoid tanning before the procedure. During your initial consultation, your MedSpa technician will give you a realistic expectation of the results you can expect to achieve and possibly suggest additional procedures to enhance your treatment. Before treatment, your physician will also give you specific instructions to prepare for your AcuPulse‚Ñ¢ laser treatment.

The whole procedure usually takes an hour to an hour and a half.
