At your initial in-office surgical consultation expect to provide your complete medical history, a list of all current medications, any allergies, and any previous surgeries. Our experienced and highly trained staff take before photographs to aid you and your top-tier surgeon in planning and performing your Face Lift and any complimentary procedures to ensure the best results possible. Once you place your surgery deposit and confirm a date to have surgery with our center in Miami, you will need to undergo an extensive physical exam, including blood testing, and an informed consent process. We will also give you instructions to prepare for your procedure, including precautions regarding certain medications, alcohol consumption, and detailed hygienic protocols.

At our state of the art center here in Miami we only have board certified M.D. Anesthesiologists administer anesthesia. Face Lifts are one of the most specifically-personalized procedures offered in plastic surgery, because everyone’s facial structure is different and signs of aging are unique to you. All Face Lift procedures, however, will include strategically placed incision(s) to allow the facial skin to be lifted and the muscle underneath tightened. Depending on your surgical plan fat will be removed or suctioned out as well. After all procedures are complete, the excess facial skin is methodically pulled and trimmed before sutured into place with the smallest possible incisions before bandaging is applied.

Due to the nature of the procedure involving muscles in your face there is some expected soreness after the initial procedure. A specific management plan for pain will be discussed with your surgeon and our staff to make sure you are as comfortable as possible in your recovery. You will have the bandaging as well as small surgical drains that will remain on the first 24 hours post procedure. Expect some swelling and potential bruising, which generally subsides within 2 weeks.

Mild pain or discomfort is assumed the first few days after with most patients able to do normal daily tasks by day 10. Any strenuous activities such as exercise are advised against for 3 weeks following. The schedule for follow-up office visits are 24 hours post procedure to remove the surgical drains and re-dress the bandaging, 1 week and 1 month after the procedure. After these appointments, your plastic surgeon will advise of any additional appointments and any further instructions post-procedure with you.
