Signs of aging on the face, including wrinkles and fine lines, can have a significant impact on a person’s self-esteem. As a result, many people use deeply hydrating moisturizers, exfoliants, and sunscreen to protect their skin on a daily basis. Unfortunately, one of the most commonly skipped areas in a skincare routine is the neck. So, after years of treating just your face, you may find that your neck appears much older in comparison. If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your neck, you may be a great candidate for a neck lift.
The South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery is a premier plastic surgery practice and a top choice for patients seeking a more defined look with a neck lift. Our surgeons have many years of experience performing neck lifts and delivering beautiful and natural-looking results. So, if sagging or loose skin on your neck is drawing attention away from your beautiful face, a neck lift may be right for you.
Typical candidates for a neck lift have excess fat, wrinkled skin, or loss of elasticity around the neck and jaw. Another common concern is an overly fleshy neck, often referred to as a turkey neck. Neck Lift surgery can address most age-related issues, like wrinkling and creasing to give you a more youthful, slimmer profile. Our patients are often amazed at how a rejuvenated neck improves the appearance of their lower face and gives them more confidence. Customized to fit your specific needs with several components to choose from.
The cost of your neck lift surgery will depend on the different techniques your surgeon uses during surgery. In some cases, only liposuction is necessary to remove excess fat, and the cost is much lower. However, if you have more extensive needs, such as loose muscles and horizontal banding, your surgeon may have to lift and tighten your skin and muscles using more advanced techniques. We offer neck lift surgery starting at $2,999, not including anesthesia and surgeon fees.
The South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery is committed to helping our patients find the most convenient payment method for their procedure. We work with three third-party financing companies to offer flexible payment plans with instant approval based upon your credit score. And, through our network of experienced physicians and vendors, and our agreements with competitive lenders, we’re confident that we can find a payment option that suits your lifestyle.

Actual Patients Shown Before And After Surgery. Your Results May Vary.
During your initial consultation, your surgeon will listen to your concerns before thoroughly evaluating your neck and jaw. Your bone structure, skin elasticity, and the amount of fat in your neck are all important to plan your procedure. Your surgeon will also walk you through the various options for a neck lift procedure and explain the techniques that will provide the best results for you.
If your primary concern is excess fat beneath your chin, liposuction may be all you need to create a more flattering neck and appearance. However, tightening loose skin and muscles requires different techniques. For each case, your surgeon will make incisions to either remove fat tissue or trim small sections of skin before suturing them back in place. The result is a smoother profile and a more youthful appearance.
Following your neck lift, your plastic surgeon will advise you to wear a compression garment for several days to several weeks to support the newly contoured skin. The incisions will feel tight, and your neck may ache for the first 24 to 48 hours. However, your doctor will prescribe medication for pain. During your recovery, it is also essential to keep your sutures clean and well covered in a layer of antibacterial ointment until they are removed after 14 days.
You should avoid strenuous activities, alcohol, steam baths, and saunas for several weeks after surgery. And, limit exposure to the sun for several months. Bruising may also persist for several weeks. However, you can apply makeup to camouflage any discoloration. Once your recovery is over, you will likely appear more rested and refreshed, and you can expect any scarring to fade gradually over time.
There are different techniques for a neck lift procedure, depending on the patient’s needs and concerns. During your consultation, your surgeon will discuss which method is best for you.
REMOVING NECK FAT
In general, most neck lift procedures start with liposuction. Your surgeon will create a small incision below your chin and remove any excess fat before suturing it closed.
TIGHTENING LOOSE SKIN:
If you have loose skin around your neck, your surgeon will make two incisions, one under or behind each ear. Then, they will trim and remove small sections of skin before lifting them into place and suturing them closed.
TIGHTENING LOOSE NECK MUSCLE:
This technique requires incisions below the chin and behind or below each ear. However, your surgeon can use the same incision used for liposuction to tighten loose neck muscle. Before the incisions are sutured, a section fat muscle is removed, and the ends are sutured to bring them together at the mid-anterior (front) section of the neck.
Your initial consultation with your surgeon will help you prepare for your procedure and give you an idea of what to expect during recovery. Your surgeon will also perform a complete physical examination, take blood tests, and take photos of your treatment area during the consultation. Feel free to talk to your doctor about the exact look you are hoping to achieve and any questions you have about your procedure.
Your operating time will vary, depending on the extent of the procedure. However, neck lifts usually take about an hour to complete. Your full surgery will take about 3-4 hours.
General anesthesia is used for all surgical procedures and is performed by a Professional M.D. Anesthesiologist.
Yes. Neck lift surgery does not require a major recovery process. However, it is necessary that you have someone to pick you up and take you home after the procedure.
Most patients resume their normal activities and work schedules within ten days. Jogging, aerobics, bicycling, and other non-contact sports are permitted three weeks after the procedure.
Health, not age, determines how long you can wait to have a neck lift. So, healthy patients can receive a neck lift well into their eighties. However, your age and the condition of your skin and neck muscles may have an impact on the type of neck contouring procedure recommended for you by your doctor.
This depends on the person. Everyone ages at different rates, so no two people will have the same experience. However, results from a neck lift will generally roll the clock back at 5 to 10 years.
